Project X-TURE Case for Honda X-adv 750

At Chemets, we had the opportunity to collaborate on an intriguing personal project initiated by Drago Črtalič, who wanted to upgrade his Honda X-adv 750 scooter with a unique case that would enhance both the functionality and aesthetics of the vehicle. Drago approached us with a clear vision: to replace the existing bag with a more robust and aesthetically finished case, giving the scooter a motorcycle-like appearance.
Development and Execution

We started with a thorough understanding of Drago’s needs. At the first meeting, we determined the key requirements for the new case: increased capacity, better water resistance, easy installation, and an elegant design that complements the lines of the motorcycle. Drago brought his bike for us to scan the specific part where the case would be mounted. We assembled a team that took care of drafting the initial sketches, which formed the basis for the entire case’s rendering.

For technical solutions such as mounting, sealing the lid, opening, and locking, we included an engineer who played a key role in the technical aspects of the project. We produced a prototype, which we tested and refined based on the client’s feedback.

Technology Selection

Once the prototype was approved, we prepared the technical documentation and decided on the production tools. The case was manufactured using the rotomolding technique, while the lids were produced through vacuum casting. For the initial test pieces, we used the cheapest version of 3D printing – FDM, which allowed us to make quick adjustments and improvements with minimal investment.

Goals and Achievements

Drago Črtalič emphasized that our collaboration led to significant progress in the design, prototype, and final product. He praised our experience and flexibility, which were crucial in solving problems that arose during the project. He also expressed satisfaction with our transparency throughout the process, which enabled him to plan financially more easily. We are pleased to have contributed multifacetedly to the development of Drago’s personal project, which has now grown into the online store X – ture.
